• The winning story, "The Battle on Malta", was a reprint from 1986 that also won the 1986 Best story vote.
• This was the 11th time that Norman Worker won the Swedish Best Story vote. Worker passed away in early 2005 and the story was reprinted in a special Norman Worker tribute issue.
• Two Sunday stories that were published in serialized form during 2005 were not eligible to vote for: "The Marshall Sisters" and "Rex and the Little People".
