Fantomen 1997
In the year 1997, a total of 26 issues of Fantomen were published.
Overview
After three years where a regular issue had been 84 pages, a regular issue was now reduced to 68 pages. 20 issues were standard issues of 68 pages, and 6 were expanded issues of 100 pages.

Covers
The main cover artist of the year was Rolf Gohs with 18 covers. Other cover artists were Hans Lindahl (4 covers), Christer Thunborg (2 covers), Felmang & Germano Ferri (1 cover), and Felmang, Germano Ferri and Silio Romagnoli (1 cover).
The cover design was changed this year, as the thin white line and top bar that had been part of the covers for the last three years were removed. The logo was changed, and a triangle was placed in the top right corner of most covers.
Phantom stories
All but one issue featured new Team Fantomen stories as main story. The only exception was a new Sunday story; the first new newspaper story published in Fantomen since 1993. The expanded issues featured reprints of Falk & Barry daily stories, continuing the chronological reprints that had begun the previous year in Den vandrande vålnaden.
