Phantom (Bastei pocket)
Phantom was the title of two German series of pocket books published by Bastei.
History
First series
The first series was published from 1976 to 1979 and consisted of 15 issues in total. Each issue was 164 pages, of which some were in color and some in black/white/red. The Phantom stories were taken from all sources of Phantom producers, and the issues occasionally included back-up comics aswell.
The Phantom pocket series was price-marked on the cover for distribution in West Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.

Second series
Bastei's second Phantom pocket series was launched in 1980 and lasted until 1984 with 25 issues in total. The page count had been reduced to 100 pages in color. The Phantom stories in this series were mainly taken from Bastei's own production, and the issues occasionally included back-up comics aswell.
The Phantom pocket series was price-marked on the cover for distribution in West Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
This series was also the basis for the short-lived French series L'Homme Masque, Le Fantôme du Bengale.
