According to the Mandrake the Magician and Phantom Newspaper strips

Lothar is a member of the Wambesi tribe. Mandrake in North Africa

Lothar was a guest at The Phantom's and Diana's wedding, as Prince of the Seven Nations. His friend Mandrake followed him "The Phantom" together with Mandrake in the story The Wedding of the Phantom. The Wedding of the Phantom

Lothar is in a relationship with Karma.

According to Marvel

Lothar is one of the Defenders of the Earth, and has a son L.J. (Lothar Junior).

According to Dynamite

Lothar Kehwabe is a friend of Mandrake the Magician. When the 22nd Phantom died during the attempted invasion of Earth by Ming the Merciless, he was succeeded by Lothar who would continue the search for the Phantom heir. Kings Watch Pt 5
