Plot synopsis
General Bababu is in a hospital in Rodia, thinking back to his youth and his military career. As a young man, he and his mother was chased out of their village in the jungle. The Phantom saved them from being attacked by a rhino and helped them to being allowed to stay in another village. The Shaka tribe just barely tolerated them though and Bababu moved to Morristown as a young man, where he was recruited into the British colonial army. Rising quickly through the ranks to become a captain, becoming known for dealing swiftly and harshly with anybody who could be suspected of supporting the anti-British rebels.
As captain he was in charge when the colonial army visited the Shaka village and captain Bababu ordered to kill all cattle and burn down the crops. His order to shoot a journalist who had been taken photos of the deadful acts commited against the villagers, was interrupted by the Phantom. Back in his hospital bed, Bababu vows to one day defeat the Phantom.
