Behind the scenes
- The inside cover for the story "Jungle Love" is painted by Glenn Ford and was inspired by the movie poster for "Gone withe the Wind". The cast names on the poster are references to real life actors and actresses:
- Cary Gary – Cary Grant and Gary Cooper
- Rita Lana – Rita Hayworth and Lana Turner
- Victor Manure – Victor Mature
- Hedy Galah – Hedy Lamarr (Galah is a species of cockatoo)
- Lauren Macaw – Lauren Bacall (Macaw is a species of parrot)
- Humphrey Go-Kart – Humphrey Bogart
- Al Cappucino – Al Pacino
- Katherine Heartburn – Katherine Hepburn
- Jane Blonder – Jane Seymour (last name "Blonder" could be a pun: blonde hair with "Bond girl" and a hommage to the character Jan Brandel from "Casablanca")
- Mark Camel – Marc Cavell
- And as special guest appearances:
- Basil Backbone – Basil Rathbone
- Anthony Napkins – Anthony Hopkins
- The Swedish reprint (translated by Pidde Andersson) replaces Mark Camel with an actual Swedisch actor, John Botvid.
- The movie title "Our Man in Nepal" from the poster shown on a wall is a reference to the real movie title Our Man in Havana.
- The name "Ookabolapongas" (instead the usual Ookabolakongas) in the title "In the Land of Ookabolapongas" was taken from the comic strip "Melvin of the Apes".
- The movie "Jungle Love" was produced by Bengafilms Pty. Ltd. in association with Pidde Andersson and Frew Australia.
- Name of the restaurant "Knife & Falk Dinner" is homage to Lee Falk.
- Even though the story is set in the early 1950s, Biff Blunt's house has a modern fridge and cooker.
- Streets in Morristown are named "Wilson Av.", "McCoy St.", and "No Frew Rd.", after Wilson McCoy and Frew.
- An intro strip was drawn but not used in the original Australian print. It is used in the Swedish reprint.
