Behind the Scenes
- "The Lightning Egg" was the last story by Germano Ferri to be published by Fratelli Spada. At the time, a sequel was planned but never realized, and around 1973-1974, Ferri temporarily ceased his Phantom career, leaving one story – "Expedition in the Jungle" – uncompleted.
- In 2000, together with Felmang, Ferri finished the story and submitted a 42-page version to Egmont, but it remained unpublished. Felmang then proposed the story to Frew, who turned it down at the time. Eventually, in 2016, it was finally published, in a two-part version, as a part of Frew's new subseries The Phantom's World.
