Katrineholmskuriren
Katrineholmskuriren is a local Swedish newspaper that published "The Phantom" daily strip. It was published six days a week while publishing the strip. Later it has dropped to fewer days.
History
It is published in the three "kommuns" Katrineholm (hence its name), Flen, and Vingåker.
Originally the Phantom was referred to as Dragos and the strip was called "Dragos – den mystiske mannen" ("Dragos – the mysterious man"), eventually dropped to just "Dragos". In 1967, they started publishing a section called Seriehörnan (originally published Mondays through Fridays, expanded to Saturdays in 1973), where "Fantomen" was one of the comics, while still continuing to publish "Dragos" in a different part of the paper until the story being published was (almost) finished. The Phantom was, however, still referred to as Dragos in the "Fantomen" strip itself. In 1983 during the publication of "The Heirs", the name Dragos was finally dropped from the strip and replaced by Fantomen.
It published daily stories from the 8th of December 1942 until the end of 1996, when they decided to print strips in color and "The Phantom", the only "serious" strip, seized to be published in Katrineholmskuriren.
