Ingrid of Holstein was the wife of the 8th Phantom according to Team Fantomen.

Fictional Character Biography

She met the future 8th Phantom in 1699 and they got the approval to seeing each others after he proved himself during a bear hunt with the Swedish king Charles XII, who became impressed by him. Unfortunately, her new admirer had to leave soon after that to assume the mantle of his father. However, she then travelled to Bangalla, where her ship sank, fortunately, the new Phantom saved her, the only one he managed to do so with of the entire crew and passangers. Sometime after 1700, her husband assisted her brother Johann in paying the annual tribute to the barbary pirates, but her brother turned out to have ruined his life and tried to steal everything for himself. When the Phantom confronted him, he tried to escape and most probably accidently killed himself. The Barbary Pirates

In 1717, when her son recently had celebrated his birthday, she and Kit travelled home to surprise the Phantom, but was met in Morristown by the Bandar Bamba who told them that the Phantom was dying. She and Kit managed to reach the Skull Cave before the 8th Phantom died and she got time to say a last good bye. Her son was the only one present when her husband died and he passed on to her that the 8th Phantom's last thoughts had gone to her. The Avenger from the Sea

Family origin

Lady Ingrid has from the start been described as Swedish, however, she has also said to be the daughter of the Duke of Holstein, a territory originally German, that came under the rule of the Danish Royal House. It was parted into to two, one under the Danish king, and one under a cadet branch of the Royal House of Oldenburg. At the time when Lady Ingrid lived, one part of Holstein, Holstein-Gottorp, was allied with Sweden and tried to be independent from Denmark. All this may indicate that Lady Ingrid belongs to a branch of the house of Oldenburg.
