Colonel Worubu has submitted a list of Jungle Patrol recruits to be approved by its commander, the Phantom; all recruits are approved.
The Vanderbilt expedition is robbed of their clothing and Mrs Vanderbilt's jewellery one night and corporal Jason disappers. The Phantom tell colonel Worubu that he will investigate the disappearance of the Jungle Patrol soldier. At the Jungle Patrol headquarters the recruits have arrived and one recruit in particular stand out, Mary Blake, who excel in all the tests. Colonel Worubu doesn't think that the commander will allow women to join the Patrol.
One of the tests is surviving in the jungle for two weeks and Blake head north towards the Misty Mountains while the Phantom is secretly following them.
