Irish Independent is an Irish newspaper that published "The Phantom" daily strip from 1963 to 1969 and Sunday strip from 1948 to 1971 in sister publication Sunday Independent.
History
The Irish Independent was formed in 1905 as the direct successor to the Daily Irish Independent. "The Phantom" first appeared in Irish Independent on May 6, 1963 and had been publishing to November 25, 1969. Sunday edition was sister publication called Sunday Independent. "The Phantom" first appeared in Sunday Independent on October 3, 1948 and had been publishing to January 31, 1971.
