Behind the scenes

• During the week that the Phantom movie premiered (June 3 to June 8, 1996), the daily strip took a break from the plot and recaptured the origin of the Phantom. These daily strips were inked by Fred Fredericks instead of regular inker Keith Williams.
• George Olesen used to spend the summers in Denmark, and some of the pencilled strips from this story were lost in the mail to USA. Luckily George had taken photocopies that could be used instead. Some of the pencilled strips were later published in a Friends of The Phantom newsletter.[1]
