Plot synopsis
Fishermen in the Tiger Lake in the jungle discover that the lake has been polluted. Not only is the lake a source of fresh fish to the people in the jungle but it is also the water supply of Morristown. When President Luaga hears of this he promptly demands that the pollution must be stopped immediately. He asks for help from the Phantom and together they drive to the lake. Next to the lake is a chemical factory, owned by World Export Bund, who dump chemical waste in the lake. The president demands that the pollution is stopped immediately but the manager Mitsi Sumo claim that he has friends in high places who will place international sanctions against Bengali if the president insists. After the Phantom and Luaga has left, the manager discovers a skull on his tie.
The Phantom explain to Luaga that he will put a stop to the pollution in a way that no blame can be placed on the government or president. After picking up explosives at the Jungle Patrol the Phantom places the explosives on the dam overlooking the Tiger Lake. As the dam breaks a large floods sweeps the factory away. Nothing is left. As the manager Mitsi Sumo leaves Bengali next day, he meets the president who expresses his deepest condolences.
The Phantom travels to Kansas City where WEB has its research center. A new fertilizer has been discovered that increase harvests in the short run but will turn farm land into a desert in 100 years time. The researcher Dr Scott demands that the fertilizer and the formula to manufacture it is destroyed but is killed. The Phantom manages to take the piece of paper with the formula and destroys all of the new fertilizer that has been produced.
The next day the three top executives of WEB are visiting a new fully automated plant where robots assemble bulldozers. Using a bulldozer the Phantom wreaks havoc on the new plant.
The next day there is an annual general meeting of the WEB shareholders. The Phantom is present and starts asking question about WEB's business practices. The chairman of the board explains that the company leaves the most important decisions to a computer. The Phantom finds the computer and it reprogramms it, then suggests to the shareholders that they should ask the computer if the board members should be reelected. The reprogrammed computer proposes that that the board should resign and that the company is reorganized.
