Akim
Akim was a comic-book series, published in France by "Aventures et Voyages", an edition company more usually known under the name of "Mon Journal". It was mainly dedicated to "Akim", a kind of Tarzan comic character - previously created in Italy by writer Roberto Renzy and artist Augusto Pedrazza. The series has been published from September 1958 (issue #1) to February 1991 (issue #756).
In its last period (from issues #710 to #756), a part of the series were devoted to "The Phantom" with dailies material drawn by Sy Barry. However with a small format - 13 x 18 cm - and printing only in black and white, the issues didn't pay tribute to the original quality.
Between April 1994 and March 2004 (120 issues), a second "Akim" series appeared monthly. Once again some issues - from 1994 and 1996 - featured Phantom strips but that was with material reprinted from the initial series and for only four stories.
