Behind the scenes
- Keith Chatto passed away in 1992 after having completed only six[citation needed] pages of the story. The first three completed pages are all that have been published of this story, along with this introduction by Jim Shepherd:
- "The story, I must point out, was not commissioned by Frew. Keith, who had illustrated three earlier stories for the company, enjoyed working with The Phantom so much, he decided to write, illustrate and letter a complete adventure as a complete surprise. He completed four pages, commenced a fifth and then passed away without letting anybody know whether he had completed the script and without putting a title to the story. The proposed title may have been 'The Kharmi Sect', or something close to that, but we will never be certain. Would Frew have published Keith's story? Almost certainly – but with perhaps some editing of the more explicit depictions of the naked female form!"
