Plot synopsis
The 20th Phantom arrives in Nimes, France, in 1943 to help his wife's brother Johnny Thorne leave France and travel to Bengali. The Phantom learns that a civil servant at the US embassy in Paris is colluding with a SS officer to sell stolen paintings. The French Resistance is also active and believes that the Phantom is a Gestapo agent.
