Single Appearances

Do we really want to create articles for every character? Personally, I feel that characters to have appeared in two or more stories/adaptations do deserve there own article, but generally one-time characters do not (there might be some exceptions of course). I vote for generally not creating dead links for one-time characters, except in the odd case. Thoughts? Pjär 15:24, 8 March 2008 (CET)

That does seem fair enough for the time being as the wiki still has more "Important" characters but eventually i would hope to see an article otherwise when they all add up we would be neglecting a huge amount of information which for and encyclopedia isn't something we should be aiming to do however i do realize that adding pages for characters with only one appearance isn't at the moment a high priority and therefore should be put on the back burner for what will probably be along time yet the only reason why i created the red or dead links is for the reason that all red links are created to show that there isn't currently a page on it and if you know anything about that article you can create it so by the the off chance that some user or someone passing through may know something about one of them. I know that for me personally its easier to go and create an article from a read link as other wise i may just skim over the page and go edit something else also with the amount of redlinks that there are around at the moment a few more won't hurt :)--Dark Lord Xander3 23:28, 8 March 2008 (CET)

You got a point, of course, but since this lists covers every character whose name has been mentioned in the story, it wouldn't be possible (or even wanted) to create articles for all of them - e.g. there would be a whole lot of articles called "Bill" :) Pjär 14:20, 11 March 2008 (CET)

Thats true but there are several ways around having several characters called bill the first way is to dived characters up into ones that actually appear and ones that are only mentioned creating articles for ones that only appear and secondly say a character appeared in Ice cold death called Bill and another appeared in another story you can have Bill (Ice cold death) or Bill (Team Fantomen) of for instance there are two Sandal Singh's in the team fantomen stories so one is called Sandal Singh and the other is Sandal Singh (Male)--Dark Lord Xander3 06:22, 12 March 2008 (CET)

Of course you are right. But I really don't think it is a good idea to create an article for a character who only has passed the Phantom on the street on one panel in a story from 1984. It makes absolutely no sense... Pjär 13:37, 12 March 2008 (CET)

And i agree with you completely all i am saying is that characters who play a major part in a phantom comic but only appear in one comic should have a page of there own as for people how walk past the phantom on a street rarely do we get there man anyway an shouldn't really be counted were as say the main Villan hand any main henchmen should be linked to a page of there own--Dark Lord Xander3 06:23, 13 March 2008 (CET)
