George Camitz (1922 – 1970) was a Swedish illustrator.
Biography
Camitz produced most of the covers for the early years of the Fantomen comic book, including the very first issue. During this period it was common for the covers to feature back-up comics or real-life celebrities instead of The Phantom himself, which is why most Camitz Fantomen covers don't show the Phantom at all. Camitz also produced covers for Fantomen Christmas Albums in the 1950's.
He left Fantomen in 1956 to take over his family's business, but produced cartoons for a local newspaper under the pseudonym Don Camillo.
