Behind the Scenes

"Fantomen Talar" in Fantomen 3/1978 explains that originally, "The Devil's Triangle" was scheduled to be published in this issue. However, the production of the story was delayed until the deadline came, the editor then decided to publish "Queen Samaris XII", originally planned for publication in a Serie-pocket. Since the cover that Rolf Gohs had drawn for the issue made definite allusions to the scheduled story, another one was needed. There were no time for Gohs to draw a new one, so the editor went to the cover archive and selected the Fantomen 25/1970 cover, also drawn by Gohs, and gave it a new green background. The originally scheduled story and cover were later published in Fantomen 18/1977.
