"Fantagor" is a Brazilan comic, heavily based on "The Phantom". It was published by Editora Minuano in cooperation with Opera Graphica, which was the publisher of regular Phantom comics in Brazil at the time. It was written by Pierre Viegas and drawn by Viegas with Antonio Lima, cover art by André Luiz Maria (art) and Adriano Lucas (colors) in a manga-inspired style.

History

Opera Graphica had attempted to get a license for producing original Phantom stories, but was never given approval by King Features Syndicate. "Fantagor" was a reorganization of the proposed Phantom project of Opera Graphica, the "Fantagor" concept copies many elements of the Phantom strip. The costume is slightly different, but features a mask and a ring. The Skull Cave, the Skull Throne, the Oath of the Skull and the flag of the Singh Brotherhood appear exactly as they do in Phantom comics.
