Mina Braun is a fictional character that appeared in the long running newspaper strip series 'Temple Of the Gods: Part 1, The U-Boat mystery'. She is a German scientist who crosses path with the 21st Phantom when she was on her way to find an ancient science of creating God-like superhuman beings on an Egyptian temple hidden somewhere on Eden. The Phantom saves Mina's life from some of her greedy colleagues and together they find out that even deadlier threats can be found underground in the secret temple complex.

Fictional Character Biography

Mina was born in Germany. From a tender age her great uncle read to her the details of the mission that his brother had confided to him before leaving for Eden from where he never returned. This was how Mina developed a strong interest in Egyptian hieroglyphics and symbols from a young age. The mission was to find a secret science of creating a race of superior humans, which was practiced somewhere on a hidden temple on Eden. The German army planned on using this lost science for their benefit.

In the story Mina lead a team of scientists to find the wreckage of the submarine her grandfather travelled in. The map lead to the location of the forgotten temple. Mina's comrades were overcome by greed when they saw the temple full of riches. the Phantom saved her life when they attacked and attempted to murder her which made Mina believe that the Phantom was one of the 'Gods' created on Eden. After he handed her colleagues to the Jungle Patrol, Mina and the Phantom went back to the temple to uncover it's mystery. As they went further into the temple, Braun started to feel nervous as a result of reappearing 'symbols of evil' inside the temple. They found a huge number of mummified dead bodies that have heads of animals and bodies of humans. Further underground the temple, the Phantom found these same creatures alive and returned without event. Mina's dream of finding a lost science turned into a nightmare and she was heartbroken. Guran then gave her his amnesia drug and the Phantom took her back to Germany to return her to her parents. Mina does not remember anything after that.

The Phantom stole her great uncle's diary to protect the temple(and Eden). As he leaves her sleeping he says to himself 'A woman of her great spirit and raw courage has many adventures ahead in life.'
