Behind the scenes
- Team Fantomen editor Ulf Granberg contacted Swedish publishing companies and literary agencies to invite Swedish novelists to write a Phantom story. Several writers responded with story ideas, but crime writer Anna Jansson's idea was the only one that finally became a story. Jansson was already a longtime Phantom fan, and previously worked as a nurse which inspired her to write a story about the discovery of penicillin.
- Since Jansson was not familiar with writing scripts for comics, the writing process for this story was a bit different than usual. Janssons wrote a detailed synopsis which included the dialogue, which was edited by Granberg and then adapted by Hans Lindahl into a comic script. This script was sent to Jansson for approval before Lindahl began drawing the story.
- The original Swedish title means "Saved by a Coincidence", which is quite a different meaning than the English title that Frew chose.
