In the year 1999, a total of 26 issues of Swedish comic book Fantomen were published.

Overview

The first issue of 1999 was released on December 29, 1998 which means that technically, 27 Fantomen issues were published in 1998. Previous years when this has happened (in 1976 and 1983), the 27th issue was numberd as #27, but this time the publishers wanted to keep Fantomen 26/1998 as the last issue of 1998.

This means that since 1998, the last issue released in December (which is on sale until January the following year) is numbered as #1. This was almost fixed when the publisher made a gap of 6 weeks (should have been 4 weeks) between the last issue of 2013 and the first of 2014 (issued December 30, 2013!).

This year the editiorial staff consisted of Björn Ihrstedt (editor) and Ulf Granberg, Peter Friman, Bo Majgren, Christer Thunborg and Thomas Lundgren.[1]
