Behind the scenes

  • No official credits were given when this story was first published, but the text Ö-26 on the first page indicates that it is the 26th story drawn by Özcan Eralp. This practice of indicating the creators by initials and a serial number on the first page is still used on some comic strips produced in Sweden, but was abandoned rather quickly for "The Phantom".
  • The story was drawn by artist Özcan Eralp who lived in Istanbul at the time. He drew a self portrait of himself as a background character in the final panel of the story.
  • Janne Lundström has been credited as writer in various indexes after publication. Along with the reprint in Fantomen 8/2026, he confirmed that the story was co-written with Özcan Eralp.
