Spoiler warning

Part one.

Nineteen years ago: A blond woman is driving a car with her son in the back seat, while she is being chased by another car. Weapons are fired and finally the woman drives into the water and disappears, the pursuers remarks that there were no survivors and leaves. However, the boy, Kit, is seen to be alive, hiding in a tire.

Present day: Christopher "Chris" Moore and his friend, Jordi Acovado, makes a tour through New York City as parkours, Chris' friend documents everything through a camera that is transmitting live to the internet. Finally, Jordi makes a bad jump and is injured. At a café, some of their friends have watched everything and a female paramedic has joined them. The Paramedic immediately leaves for the place and arrives together with her partner to treat Jordi.

She is Renny Davidson, a former class mate of Chris. However, the police takes Chris in for some parkour related charges. Renny manages to get him out through her father, Detective Sergeant Sean Davidson. Renny suggests that he could thank her by a simple "thank you", but that dinner would be better.

After some clashing with his parents, Chris agrees to takes his studies more seriously, being in his last semester. After some hard work however, he finds that Renny is in his home waiting for him. When they lately separates that night after a walk, Chris is kidnapped by some mysterious men and he drops his cell phone as they dragg him into a car.

The Photo of Diana, Chris/Kit's real mother.

It turns out that they are the Bpaa-Thap, an organization founded 1664 by one of Chris' ancestors and a former pirate named (something like) Blure Rouge. He is presented to Abel Vandermaark, fifth generation in the service of the organization, and Guran. They tell him that his real name is Kit Walker and that they finally have identified him through DNA that was taken during his late arrest. Apparently, twenty years ago, a kid was found living in garbage, that kid was adopted by the Moore couple and is now Chris. They also shows him a photo of his mother and he recognizes her from some distant memories that have troubled him for years.

Being rather upset by all the news, he leaves them and goes home to confront his parents with the new facts, as they have always told him that he is their real son. However, when he arrives home, his parents have been murdered and the murderers, the Roux twins, are still in the house. Chris escapes and manages to kill one of his pursuers at the same place that Jordi got injured. He immediately goes to Vandermaarks hotel and confronts him about having his family murdered. Vandermaark denies having anything with the killings to do, but convinces him to leave for the small island nation Bangalla, where their head quarters is located. En route, Vandermaark warns him that he suspects it to be a mole in the technical department, run by Dr. Deepak Baboor.

At Bangalla, he is shown the Skull Cave, his ancestral home. It is also the headquarters of the Bpaa-Thap. There he reads in the chronicles of the 1st Phantom how he as a cabin boy and 20 years of age was the sole survivor of a pirate attack, upon discovering his father's body, the Captain of the ship, he burned it and later swore an Oath to fight evil [sic]. His own father's chronicle ends a few months before his death, Vandermaark explains it with that he was too proud to write any grizzly details of how bad he was.

The original suit that Kit refuses to wear.

His training starts and he is doing quite good, though Vandermaark is irritated by some of his "tricks". He is also shown the suit that his father wore, however, refuses to wear it. The Technical department has, however, created a new bullet-proof suit with enhanced strength.

Renny has just persuaded her father to investigate Chris' disappearance.

He is starting to settle in when he suddenly reads at the internet that Det. Sgt. Davidson is investigating his disappearance as a possible homocide. Realizing the danger that Davidson is putting himself in, he tries to get Vandermaark's aproval to contact Davidson and tell him that he is OK, but is denied. That night, the locals conducts a cermony with him where he picks the Skull Ring out of a burning fire without burning his hand. End of part one.

Part two. Kit has disappeared with the new suit and Guran to New York, much to Vandermaark's displeasure.

Meanwhile, the Singh are developing a mind control machine located in peoples TV boxes. They brainwashes Clark Ellis, Davidson's partner.

Kit/Chris tries to warn an angered Davidson.

Chris/Kit contacts Davidson on the street and tells him to stop the investigation. However, Davidson insists in bringing him in to answer a couple of questions, when Ellis takes up his gun and wounds Davidson severely before committing suicide. Kit flees the scene, seeing Renny arrive and tend to her father.

The Phantom appears to Renny.

After averting an assasination of Davidson at the hospital, Kit contacts Renny as the Phantom and relocates her and her father to his headquarter, telling her that he knows Chris Moore.

Feeling suspicious about the way Ellis acted, the Phantom uncovers the mind controlling technique at Ellis home. The only ones who knows anything about the investigation is Kit, Guran, Vandermaark, Baboor, and dr. Jason Kim, one of Baboor's young guys. He also gives directions for Renny to his private quarters where she finds out everything about him and his family.

Meanwhile, the mastermind behind the techinque, dr. Bella Lithia, has planted a disc to try and kill Rhatib Singh, the current leader of the Singh Brotherhood, with the same technology that brainwashes people, accidentily killing his secretary. When Rhatib Singh learns that the Phantom is to strike the TV box company's headquarter, he order's the remaining Roux brother to pre-emptively kill all the employees and then the Phantom when he comes.

The Singh are planning to kill an Israeli diplomat, Jalil Ben-David, by multiple brainwashing so that peace in the middle-east could be avoided. They also plans to make it look like the US president ordered it. The Phantom and Vandermaark attecks the building and finds a lot of bad guys whom they handle, then they find a dying dr. Lithia who mumbles a couple of clues to what is going to happen before she dies. They soon realizes that it is Ben-David that is to be assasinated and that it should be two shooters. Meanwhile, dr. Kim has taken the Davidsons hostage at Rhatib Singh's orders and Rhatib calls the Phantom and threatens to kill them if he interfer in the assasination, the Phantom merely calls Guran for help, and Kim is arrested. The Phantom gets to the place where Ben-David is arriving and sees how he survives a shot by one of the journalists, then is being pulled back inside the car into safety. The Phantom realizes that the security guard in the car is the second assasin. He immediately jumps down in front of the car and manages to stop the assasin, then an ambulance arrives and Ben-David is taken away.

Meanwhile, they have found the names of everyone who was to take part in the assasination, the only one they have not identified is Trevor Law. The Phantom realizes that it is the ambulance guy who took Ben-David away.

The Phantom hitch-hikes with Vandermaark's car and when it is in front of the ambulance, the Phantom jumps over to the ambulance, and eventually gets in and stops the assasination.

Later, the Phantom exposes Abel Vandermaark as a mole that supplied information already in his father's day, that is why the lasts months were missing. Vandermaark confesses but claims that he did everything for the Phantom. At the end, Vandermaark throws an explosive at the Phantom who hit it in the air with his gun, thereby making it explode in Vandermaark's face.

Guran reminds the Phantom about one of his most sacred duties.

At the Singh Brotherhood leadership table, Rhatib Singh is killed.

In Bangalla, Renny and Kit says good bye, hoping to see each others. Guran reminds the Phantom that one of the Phantom's most sacrade duties is to produce an heir to continue his lagacy.

At the Singh Brotherhood, Abel Vandermaark is made new leader since Rhatib Singh was the last member of the Singh family.

Trivia

  • Kit Walker's (The Phantom's) adopted name is Christopher "Chris" Moore, most likely a tribute to Ray Moore, the Phantom's first artist, and the fact that Team Fantomen has given the Phantom's real name as Christopher Walker with some ancestors being called "Chris".
