"Graffiti Phantom" is the 221st Phantom daily story. The story was written by Tony De Paul and drawn by Paul Ryan.

Plot Summary

The Phantom depends on being anonymous in his fight against evil, and shuns publicity. But a mysterious graffiti artist begins to paint the image of the Phantom, fighting criminals and protecting children, in public places across Bangalla's capital city. The Bandar tribesmen cover the images up, but more keep appearing.

It turns out the artist is a teenager whom the Phantom rescued at the age of three, experiences a compulsion to paint him rescuing children as a result of her repressed memories. When he finds her, and explains to her and her parents what happened, her urge vanishes.

Notes

  • Road signs marked "Falk Blvd." and "Moore Ave." are seen in Mawitaan.
  • Prince Valiant, Mandrake and possibly Superman appear as pictures on a wall.
