In French only names of people or places begin with a capital letter. Usual names start with a tiny letter. The words beginning a sentence are always typed with a capital letter.
It is better to respect that original typing to avoid some confusion, such as – for example with this story’s title - : "Les âmes de pierre" (small “p”letter )which means "The souls made of stone" while "Les âmes de Pierre" (big “p”letter) would means "The Peter's souls". So I have kept the small letter in the word "pierre" in order to respect the meaning.
