'''Tony DePaul''' (born 1954) is an American comic writer. Since the early 1990's he has written several comics for the Swedish ''[[Fantomen]]'' comic book, including "[[The Phantom]]". Because of this, he got the opportunity to take over the Phantom [[daily stories|daily]] and [[Sunday stories|Sunday strip]].  
 
During his time as a writer for the daily stories he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident and due to the time it took to recover, he re-used some of his earlier ''Fantomen'' scripts for the newspaper strip.
 
Besides "The Phantom", he has written the comics "Dödsspelet" and "Det okända" for ''Fantomen'', both illustrated by [[Kari Leppänen]].
 
Before he became a freelance writer and writing comics, he was a journalist for 20 years.
