"The Wharf Rats" is the 151st Phantom Sunday story. It was originally published in American newspapers from August 22nd, 1999 to December 26th, 1999.
The story is a remake of the 1962 daily story with the same name. This was due to Lee Falk's passing in early 1999, which caused King Features Syndicate to quickly need a script to use for the Sunday stories. It was drawn by George Olesen and Fred Fredericks.
