Behind the scenes
- The story includes several explicit dates. Lydia Fraser was born in 1963, in 1971 she and her father travelled to Morristown. At age 7 she was lost in the jungle, and as the story begins 3 years have passed since she disappeared. When found, she says she is 10 years old, which means the story takes place in 1973 (or 1974, when it was published).
