Plot summary
The Phantom has been missing for a year and Kit and Heloise have returned to the Skull Cave. In the Mori village the outcast Hakawu has come back to the village with a claim to become chief, saying that he has killed The Phantom and thrown the dead body in a ravine. As evidence he has The Phantom's horse Hero. Dressed as The Phantom, Kit visits the Mori village and challenges Kuntu into a fight. Meanwhile The Jungle Patrol returns to the temple in the jungle heavily armed, inteding to find out the whereabouts of the missing archaelogists.
