Template

May I suggest that a template is made so that you could refer to http://seriewikin.serieframjandet.se/index.php/Startsidan as a source? Most other wikis have such a function. In general there might be good to have such a function for especially the english wiki. Karl MAN 12:26, 24 October 2007 (CEST)

Good idea, especially for English wikipedia it should be a priority since a lot of info comes from there at the moment. Member 7 13:17, 24 October 2007 (CEST)
It does still not exist any such template. 130.236.60.32 20:05, 13 December 2007 (CET)
Templates are now in place here and here. We may have to do some back-tracking to add these templates to old articles. (also remember that it is free for all to create new templates, we have no "template-editor" who is responsible for creating all new templates. Give it a try if a template you need is not available yet) Member 7 15:44, 15 December 2007 (CET)

On The Topic of Templates a Excessive Redlink one may be something to look at in the future as i have found on other wiki's that it a good way to get users attention to pages that need work --Dark Lord Xander 07:24, 13 February 2008 (CET)

Sure! Also on the template subject: on one of my own favourite wikis, Wookiepedia, most templates are a bit more "personalized" (see [1]). If any one feels creative and wants to suggest more "phantomized" templates feel free to go ahead. A graphic overhaul of the whole PhantomWiki to give it a more distinctive Phantom feel would also be nice of someone is handy at those kind of things. Member 7 22:05, 13 February 2008 (CET)
Another Template suggestion we have one for complete appearances but should we have one for incomplete lists such as the list of German stories or the Fratelli Spada stories ?--Dark Lord Xander3 01:53, 24 March 2008 (CET)
Another Template Suggestion, have a template that welcomes new users whist providing them info on the wiki links to tutorials ect with pretty colours and a phantom feel of course :) --Dark Lord Xander3 06:03, 24 March 2008 (CET)

Cover/illustrations project

We already have a lot going on, so it is with risk of "overload" that I bring this up, but it is something I have been very interested in doing for a long time. After collecting Phantom comics from all over the world for quite some time now, it happens quite often that I find covers with familiar illustrations. What I have begun to think about is to make a sort of index over all unique Phantom covers (or other types of illustrations, like posters). The idea would be to give each cover a separate article, which would contain a gallery of all known places where this particular illustration has been used.

It could look something like this:

(I know this particular cover has appeared on several more comics, a poster and served as the basis for a Phantom bed sheet aswell!)

Covers that have appeared frequently would be most interesting to give a separate article of course. The question is (and this is something that can be discussed before this possible project even gets started): How do we give each illustration a unique name?

To name it after the artist(s) with a sequential number - i.e. Rolf Gohs cover 1 - etc. could work, if we have a complete list of all covers by each artist so we don't have to go back and re-do the numbering over and over as we discover new work by the same artist. And how do we do with unsigned covers?

To give it a name after the first issue where it appears could work - if we decide on how to act on covers that originally appeared as non-covers (posters etc.) and if it's OK to regard the Swedish issues as "first" when it comes to the current co-printed Egmont editions. Any thoughts? Member 7 11:51, 25 February 2008 (CET)

It's a good idea, I would be a really nice addition to the PhWiki, and I've thought about it myself (even though I won't be able to participate much, due to lack of knowledge on the matter).
Naming the covers after their artist would be a good idea, but as you say, there are some big disadvantages about it. Naming them after their first appearance might be easier. Since we uses the Swedish print as 1st appearance for current Team Fantomen stories, I would say that it's reasonable to do the same for covers and other illustrations (e.g. Fantomen 1/2008 cover, Fantomen 1/1998 poster). Then of course there might be a problem knowing where some covers (like for some minor Turkish publication etc) originates from... But since it's easy to change name of Wiki articles, that might not be such a huge problem...
Just my thoughts, though - keep the ideas coming :) Pjär 16:16, 1 March 2008 (CET)

Community Portal

I Went to check out the phantom wiki Community Portal to see how it compared to other wikis that i use only to find that there wasn't one its a useful thing to have as you can link all pages that have information related to the Phantom wiki on it and is a handy spot for new users check out this wiki as an example --Dark Lord Xander3 07:36, 8 March 2008 (CET)

You are right. I've been thinking about how a PhWiki community portal can look like, but never got any further... Your suggestion to include a reference list would be very useful - I hadn't thought about it before you mentioned it. Pjär 15:19, 8 March 2008 (CET)

Glad i could help --Dark Lord Xander3 23:14, 8 March 2008 (CET)

Summer Time

As far as I know, those countries that uses summer time, have already switched. This wiki seem to use the same Time as England. I think it would be good to switch it to summer time. Karl MAN 2 14:22, 7 April 2008 (CEST)

Actually, every user choses which time zone s/he wants to see the time in. Just click on "My preferences" in the upper right corner of the window, and then, under "Date and time" you enter by how much your timezone differs from UTC. Pjär 16:00, 10 April 2008 (CEST)

Community Portal suggestion

I've put up a suggestion for PhantomWiki:Community Portal. Please add your thoughts about it on its talkpage :)

Also, as suggested in that article, I'd like to see PhantomWiki:Bandar Village as the community forum (pretty much what this talk page serve as now). We need an arena with the only purpose to discuss general matters. What do you think? Pjär 13:54, 15 April 2008 (CEST)

Template for issues with unknown cover artists

May I suggest that a template would be created that could be put into issueboxes if the cover artist is unknown. The template would then automatically sort the issue into a category of issues with unknown cover artists. The only text that would be exposed would be "unknown". I think this perhaps would make it easier to see how many isssues that have unknown cover artists so that those who have a little better watch on cover artist than me for example could fix it. Karl MAN 19:58, 17 April 2008 (CEST)

I'd rather see such an template created for the cover articles, than for the issue articles - otherwise it would suggest that the issue article is the place for information about the cover. Pjär 10:55, 18 April 2008 (CEST)

Bureaucrats Vs Administrators

I was looking through the User list page and found it curious to find 7 Bureaucrats and no Administrators and was just wondering why their were so many Bureaucrats and yet Not a single Administrator ? --Dark Lord Xander4 04:52, 18 April 2008 (CEST)

The simple answer is that we havn't really gotten around to deal with this matter. There are lots of stuff to dig into, and we get to it bit by bit :) Pjär 10:55, 18 April 2008 (CEST)

Fair enough just curious by the way nice work getting the Bandar Village up and running --Dark Lord Xander4 11:40, 18 April 2008 (CEST)
