Co-Produced Newspapers

I have recently come across a couple of examples of co-produced newspapers. In some cases, there are simply different editions of the same newspaper, but with different titles. Sometimes, There are to separate newspapers that are joined together, with diferent editions, eventually becoming only one edition. See LV., LK., VP., Folkbladet, and Östgöten which illustrates two examples of this.

HOW are we to make articles about this? Separate for the different editions (as I have done)? Separate articles for the different newspapers, even for the part of the publication of dailies after they have become one newspaper?

Any idea? Karl MAN (talk) 19:14, 7 November 2015 (CET)

The issue is two-fold: firstly how the artcles about this should be structured, secondly how we should write in the story articles that the story has been reprinted in the newspaper (if there is no longer any difference at all between two papers, should they still both be mentioned?). Fantomen covers

How should a cover be named? I have always thought that Fantomen covers were to be be named "Fantomen etc.." even if it was first published in Norway or any of the other countries which Fantomen was co-produced with because the main work was done in Sweden. Now we have the case of Fantomet 9/2015 which was published August 20, while Fantomen 20/2015 was published September 24. Thus we have the article Fantomet 9/2015 cover. Should we do it like this? The co-production has changed a bit since Fantomet is nowadays published monthly. Karl MAN (talk) 14:49, 17 November 2015 (CET)

The Fantomet 9/2015 cover is an exception, it was produced for the edition in Norway without any plans for use in Sweden (as told by the artist in a Facebook post). An opportunity to use it in Sweden came already the same year, but it could also have been put on hold for years or never used at all. Other covers are produced for the Swedish edition, but sometimes appear in other countries some days/weeks before due to practical reasons. Andreas (talk) 15:18, 17 November 2015 (CET)

Merchandise Parent Category

I've noticed that it can be hard to find listings on merchandise unless you know exactly what you're looking for. Unlike, say, 'comics,' it can be hard to look up merchandise a some people might put something in as a toy, while another might list it as an action figure. I was thinking that if we had a parent merchandise category that all others could go under it would make finding those articles much easier. I'm sure there are other catagories on the wiki that could do with a parent category as well. Dr.Strange (talk) 10:39, 17 July 2018 (CEST)

Maybe just rename/redirect Category:Memorabilia? Andreas (talk) 20:05, 17 July 2018 (CEST)

Suggestion of New article about the Palmer family

I haven't been writing anything in this wiki for years, but now I would propose that we create an article for the Palmer family. This in order to get an overview of its members and how they are related. Diana's grandfather, H. H. Palmer, for instance claims that Diana is his only grandchild. Elsie, sister of Lily and Dave, appears to not have a husband at the time when she meets the Phantom (had she have been younger, she would have want to marry the Phantom). But Diana has several cousins that shows up every now and then. It could be that "cousin" is used in a more general sense (i.e. also for second cousins, etc), but it should be in an article to be pointed out. I remember that in "Fantomen Talar" there was once a discussion by the editor of how Diana's family looked like. I will wait for objections of this proposal, but if no one object, I will create the article. Karl MAN (talk) 15:23, 4 June 2019 (CEST)

That's a very good idea; a general article about the family is much more useful that one article each about every single cousin. Thuresson (talk) 20:46, 4 June 2019 (CEST)
We should still have separate articles for each character though, but an article to give an overview of the family will combine all the information give more perspective. The entries for the different family members in such an article should (in my opinion) only give a brief description. Karl MAN (talk) 18:33, 5 June 2019 (CEST)
I have now created The Palmer family. Discussions about this could now be held at that page's discussion page. Karl MAN (talk) 09:51, 7 June 2019 (CEST)
In which story appeared Diana's cousin Bob? I've seen him only in Fratelli Spada story. Delboj (talk) 14:01, 7 June 2019 (CEST)
I didn't know from where he came, but he was mentioned at Diana's page, so I took a guess that it was in a Team Fantomen story. I will fix it. Karl MAN (talk) 15:57, 7 June 2019 (CEST)
Maybe he appeared in more stories, but I don't know anything more about it. Delboj (talk) 16:01, 7 June 2019 (CEST)
Do you know any stories in which he appears? Karl MAN (talk) 16:03, 7 June 2019 (CEST)

The joke called "PhantomWiki"

This wiki has been updating during January, February, March and April. The list of active users show that no administrator or bureacurat has been active on this wiki in the last 30 days. How long will this farce of a "system update" go on? When will the so called "update" be done? Thuresson (talk) 22:19, 12 April 2022 (CEST)

I don't know. I don't have any news. We are inactive because it doesn't have any sense make changes if it will be lost later. Delboj (talk) 12:31, 14 April 2022 (CEST)
Any info on this yet? I'd like to help build the wiki, but as you say there's no point if everything is going to be lost. Maybe it'd be best to tear this down and start again? I hope all the data/ info has been backed up somewhere.Joey pajamas (talk) 10:36, 8 July 2022 (CEST)
We are trying to find professional who could solve this problem. I don't understand how we could start this again. That would be almost impossible. If you know anyone who can help about this, let me know. Delboj (talk) 20:01, 8 July 2022 (CEST)
I understand it'd be a big job, but wouldn't it just be a case of copy/paste all the markdown that's here for each page and re-uploading the media? Time consuming, but not impossible, especially if you have help. I'd be more than happy to help with such a project, I've helped with other wikis doing just this. Possibly a different platform could be used, something like Fandom.com perhaps? As for who to contact, I'm not sure outside of MediaWiki themselves seeing as that is what its built on. Can I ask exactly what the issue is? Joey pajamas (talk) 11:10, 25 July 2022 (CEST)
I think that's impossible. If we would use another platform, probably something would be different and it wouldn't be possible copy content from this platform. We will try to find someone who will try to solve these problems: 1. a lot of oldest pages are now empty; 2. a lot of files are missing and it's not

possible to re-upload them without renaming, but images are still on the server and were not deleted; 3. there were problems with many categories, but it was possible to re-create them after deleting. Delboj (talk) 18:49, 26 July 2022 (CEST)

Well Fandom.com, and of course a new Wiki install, uses the same markdown so it would be possible to copy/paste, just time-consuming as I said. It is a huge shame this happened as the Wiki is a brilliant idea. Hopefully it'll be able to be saved. As I said, I'm happy to assist with any kind of restoration effort if needed.Joey pajamas (talk) 11:08, 27 July 2022 (CEST)

I have made a few corrections here and there over time, but I would like to write some of the missing story summaries. How can I do that and not have have them washed away like a sand castle? When I see that "PhantomWiki will be updated Sunday 30:th january" line, I wonder which year? Jan 30 came on a Sunday this year (2022), so I can hope that deadline was only eight months ago. Is there actually some person or persons in charge of this, or did they die or go away? Boise Ed (talk) 20:23 (PDT), 7 September 2022
