Plot summary

The 12th Phantom is on his way to North America when he must stay in Barbados for a week or two to change ships. He gets to know a young lawyer, Rowlands, who is defending two slaves, charged with the murder of a doctor. Rowlands and the Phantom discover that the real murderers killed the doctor to cover up embezzlement.
