The historical American sharpshooter Annie Oakley could be an inspiring source behind Annie Morgan as, besides the name, they also share a sharpshooting interest.
Falk's creation of Annie Morgan became problematic for Team Fantomen, since they had already established Asta Jensen as the wife of the 16th Phantom and mother of The 17th Phantom and Julie. Annie's status in the Team Fantomen universe is unconfirmed.
