Plot synopsis
Kit and Heloise are studying at the boarding school Durham House in USA. Near the school at a construction site a skeleton of a man is found buried. Near the location of the body Heloise find an old crucifix that she decide to keep. The forensic analysis show that the body probably belong to Cotton Grey, the 17th century witch hunter and priest whose religious fanaticism led to the hanging of eight local women.
At the school students including Kit and Heloise are preparing the annual Christmas play and decide to perform a play about the witch hunt. At the same time the school is being repainted and it seems that the paint thinner is having a strange effect on the young actors. Or is it the old witch hunter that haunts the school?
