Behind the scenes
- Bertil Wilhelmsson signed the first page of the story, but he also hid his signature later in the story. His name is written on a wooden crate in stencil, and his initials are on the label of a can in the co-op.
- This story is regarded as one of the defining stories of the Team Fantomen development in the 1970s. It is often cited as an example of the social awareness and political themes that became a big part of Team Fantomen stories.
- Worubu has a mustache instead of his usual goatee, a look he only had temporarily in the daily strip story "Luaga's Undercover Tour" which had been published in Sweden two years before "The Trade War".
