Plot synopsis
After leaving Venezuela, the 1st Phantom is heading for Hispaniola on a Spanish ship when it is attacked by an English privateer. The privateers are led by a mysterious man wearing a mask. The Phantom falls overboard before the Spanish ship sinks. He is rescued by fishermen who brings him to Santo Domingo. After reporting to the Spanish governor about the attack, he learns from a priest that Marabella is married to Don Federico, one of the largest landowners of the island. He visits Marabella who tells him that she believes that her brother-in-law has attempted to kill her. The Phantom decides to investigate Don Felipe more closely.
