Plot synopsis

After discovering a secret underground base on the taboo island of Tarawu, the Phantom has been captured by the Singh Brotherhood and taken before their leader Sandal Singh. She admits that the Singh Brotherhood is responsible for the missing ships, having discovered a way to make ships sink using methane hydrate. She demonstrate the process by having a cruise ship filled with tourists sink. Sandal Singh decides that the Phantom will be thrown into a bottomless pit. She also admits that the Phantom is the father of her child and that the child will be raised by her to become a leader for the Singh Brotherhood.

The Phantom manages to knock down Sandal's thugs and get back to the island's jungle surface. When the island is unexpectedly rocked by earthquakes, Sandal's men start to evacuate. Sandal is left by herself, trapped under a piece of junk, unable to leave. With Sandal's leg broken, the Phantom helps her out of the underground base. They leave the island in a canoe but when the Phantom tells her that she will be handed over to the police, she pulls out a gun. She is knocked unconscious by rock from the exploding island and the Phantom takes her gun.

When she wakes up, the Singh brotherhood's submarine surfaces and Sandal Singh climbs aboard. As a token of gratitude for having saved her she allows the Phantom to leave in the canoe without being killed.
