Colonel Douglas Wild was colonel of the Jungle Patrol in the days of the 15th Phantom from 1831 until his retirement in 1851. It was during Wild's tenure as colonel that the Phantom became the unknown commander of the Jungle Patrol. Hence, Wild was the last colonel to know the true identity of the Commander.
He died in 1851 after suffering a stroke. Public Enemy Number One
