== Plot synopsis ==
Diana Palmer is aboard a ship leaving Bangalla through the Gulf of Manwar; While on board she meets a fellow passenger named Lieutenant Byron. The two are shipwrecked by a tropical storm and eventually captured by desert slavers. Hatching a plan, they both manage to briefly escape but Byron is the only one able to outrun the slavers. Byron decides to use every ounce of his diminishing strength to find the Phantom, to which he does and the two return to the desert to catch up with Diana and her captors. The Phantom finds Diana and the slavers but is overwhelmed and buried to be eaten by ants; Though he is later saved by Devil and a wandering Sand Hermit, Diana believes him to be dead. The slaver, Ali, then brings Diana to Lord Suliman to be sold, but Suliman sees an American slave as too visible a risk given slavery is still outlawed in his country and sends Ali away. Having no more use for her, Ali abandons Diana in the middle of the desert. The Phantom recovers at the Sand Hermit's hut and tracks down Suliman, who informs him of his refusal to purchase Diana; Colonial Services is contacted and several search parties are sent to find her. The Phantom then tracks down Ali and, after discovering his abandoning Diana, takes him prisoner and continues the search. Diana is eventually found by the Sand Hermit and taken to his hut, where she is eventually found by Lieutenant Byron.

The Phantom meets up with Colonial Services and turns over Ali, learning of Diana's rescue at that time; Her health deteriorating from her ordeal, however, Diana is quickly flown out to a hospital by Lieutenant Byron before the Phantom can catch up with them. After locating the hospital she has been flown to, the Phantom is forbidden from seeing Diana due to her frail condition, believing the shock that he is alive would kill her. The Phantom agrees to wait and allow Diana to recover.

== Plot synopsis ==
The Phantom returns to Bangalla, and the jungle tribes rejoice; At the same moment, Diana Palmer has arrived in Swali on a holiday to take her mind off the Phantom, where she meets an old friend named Roark. During that time that it is revealed Roark is running a pearl diving operation, which the Phantom has outlawed due to the health problems it causes local tribesman, Diana discovers why the tribes have been celebrating non-stop and asks Roark to take her into the jungle to the Phantom. Roark eventually agrees, knowing Diana can draw the Phantom out for him to kill, which she does by shouting his name and Roark is nearly successful, but the Phantom survives and mistakenly believes Diana has married Roark and is helping him to kill the Phantom. Unable to bring himself to challenge the woman he loves, the Phantom allows Roark to run rampant throughout Bangalla until he hears "Roark's wife" has been captured while on safari. After saving the woman he believed was Diana, Roark's real wife reveals the truth to the Phantom, who returns to Swali and brings Roark to justice, though not in time to reach Diana and clear up the misunderstanding.

Diana sails away from Swali and Bangalla believing the Phantom hates her for working with Roark.

== Plot Summary ==
The Phantom travels home aboard the Queen of Suez when it is tricked into investigating a ship in distress that turns out to be a pirate ship, the "Shark's Nest", in disguise. The pirate captain, Baron Grover, has taken a girl named Trudi, her mother, and the passengers valuables before sailing off, at which point the Phantom stows away aboard his ship. After putting up a stealthy attempt, the Phantom is captured and taken to their hideout, Grover Island, where he thwarts various execution attempts, including a one on one fight with a man named Big Steve, who the Phantom chooses not to kill. Later, while the pirate crew attempts a 5 on 1 hunt for the Phantom all over the island, Big Steve returns to help the Phantom even the odds, and the Phantom captures Baron Grover, forcing him to surrender himself and his crew to naval forces.

Big Steve is given some leniency by the naval forces for helping the Phantom, and Trudi and her mother safely return to the voyage.

== Plot synopsis ==
[[The Phantom]] sends a telegram to [[Diana Palmer-Walker|Diana]] informing her of a date when he will arrive att Marseille by boat. When they make a temporary hold at Algiers, the Phantom takes a walk with [[Devil]]. He then suddenly is confronted with a woman screaming for help from a window. Immediately he takes the stairs and knocks at the door to the flat of which the woman screaming were in. There, he discovers that everything was just a fraud to lure stupid tourist into an ambush to rob them. The Phantom quickly starts beating them down, but then, he hear the signal from his ship; it is about to depart from Algiers! He immediately leave the would-be robbers and starts running for the ship. The robbers, not realizing whom they have ambushed, then tries to stop him. He then reveal himself as the Phantom while fighting them and they are terrified. He then teaches the woman a lesson for acting as bait.

Suddenly he realizes that he has forgotten the ship and starts running, but it is too late; the ship has gone and the motor boat which he quickly hires to be taken to the ship runs out of fuel. He then sends a telegram to Diana to explain that he will be four days late.

Meanwhile, in Paris, Diana has great difficulties in persuading her mother that the Phantom is the right man for her. When the Phantom's telegram arrives to their house, Diana's mother quickly takes care of it, in order to destroy her daughter's relationship with the Phantom. Diana takes it very hard that the Phantom is not aboard the ship that he has written that he shall, though she convinces herself that something must have happened.

Diana's mother then makes her next move in that she makes her doctor telling Diana that she is ill and have to go back to the states. Diana writes a letter, explaining everything to the Phantom, however, her mother finds it and destroys it before making a new letter in which Diana ends their relationship.

When the Phantom finally arrives at Paris, he discovers the letter and has his heart crushed. Everywhere he look, he sees couples in love.

In the states, Diana's mother turns out to be of extremely good health and Diana is finally told the entire story of the telegram and the letter. She immediately send a telegram to an address in Paris of whom the Phantom has told her, the telegram arrives too late, however; the Phantom has already left for the jungle.

== Plot synopsis ==
The Phantom stops a marriage between Diana Palmer and "Bob", whom Lily, her mother, had convinced her to marry. He is then tasked by Scotland Yard to investigate the country of Barogar, where he discovers the Maharajah's physician, Count Bart, has covered up the Maharajah's death by natural causes, kidnapped his son, Rajah Gar, and planned to wed the Princess Karene while usurping power from the young Rajah in order to rule the country. The Phantom upsets the Count's plans with the help of Captain Dudley of Colonial Services and Shiva, a woman in love with Count Bart.

After Rajah Gar is rescued and restored to power, pity is taken on Count Bart and he is exiled from the country where he can build an honest life with Shiva.

== Plot synopsis ==
[[The Phantom]] discovers that one of the natives children, Toma, actually is a western boy. He investigates the matter and finds out that Toma, in fact, is the only son of a deceased english missionary, who had been killed when he was travelling home to claim his rightful title as lord. The man behind the conspiracy turns out to be his brother, who now has the title of lord. The lord tries to conceal the crime but finally feels that he cannot kill an innocent boy.

The ex-lord is turned over to the police, most likely to be hanged, while his unknowing daughter is left with the task of taking care of the little boy to compensate for her fathers crime.

== Plot Synopsis ==
Rogue prospectors Smiley and Hill discover a rich deposit of diamond bearing clay in the [[Llongo]] territory but Llongo Chief Tari refuses to allow them to mine in the area. Smiley knows that Tari’s son Prince Kula and the [[Osi-Wey]] chief Kygani’s daughter Princess Ota are in love with each other. As Kygani is against the marriage Smiley tries to incite him to attack the Llongo but he refuses saying that he will not break the Phantom Peace of the jungle.

Smiley and Hill then kidnap Ota and the blame is put on Kula. When Smiley convinces Kygani that the Phantom is dead the war between the Llongo and the Osi-Wey starts and soon other tribes are also involved with Smiley providing rifles to the Osi-Wey. Meanwhile the Phantom, who was away fighting [[the Sky Band]], returns to the jungle, gets to know the situation from the [[Bandar]] and Kula. He rescues Ota from the prospectors and at his intervention the war is stopped. Smiley however shoots Hill and escapes.

In the meantime, [[Diana]] who had left thinking Phantom is dead is told by [[Melville Horton]] that he is alive. She returns to Frasertown and takes a safari to the jungle to find Phantom. Smiley changes his appearance and becomes the guide for her safari and kidnaps her when he realises that she is Phantom’s love interest. He tries to sell her off for ransom rights but the Phantom comes to know about her kidnapping and rescues her killing Smiley in the process.

Back in the jungle the Phantom and Diana discuss marriage but Diana believes that Phantom should not leave the jungle while she cannot stay there forever. She, therefore, leaves at night leaving a note for the Phantom asking him not to follow her.

== Plot synopsis ==
Subsequent to the destruction of [[the Singh Brotherhood]]’s stronghold Mount Trepnich {{Storylink|The Singh Brotherhood (story)|The Singh Brotherhood}}, Phantom tells [[Melville Horton]] that [[the Sky Band]] is still surviving and active. Horton does not believe him. Meanwhile [[Sala]], who was under custody in an army hospital escapes and rejoins the band on the Isle of Herons.

The Sky Band starts its activities and the Phantom is arrested on the suspicion of aiding Sala. Freed by the [[Bandar]], the Phantom reaches the isle of Herons but is captured and taken to [[The Baroness]] who is the leader of the all female gang the Sky Band. When the Baroness develops feelings for The Phantom, conflicts arise within the gang. The Baroness sends Sala away on a mission, resulting in Sala's arrest. Eventually understanding that The Baroness had known that the mission was a setup, and that she had chosen Sala in order to get rid of her, Sala decides to cooperate with the army. She leads them to the Isle of Herons, which results in the final defeat of the Sky Band.

The story was written by [[Lee Falk]] and drawn by [[Ray Moore]], with pencils by Falk for the first few weeks.

== Plot synopsis ==

[[Diana Palmer-Walker|Diana Palmer]] returns to New York after two years in the South Seas. Her ship is however, attacked by New York based gangster [[Fats Horgan]] and his men before it reaches the port. A mysterious stranger then appears, [[The 21st Phantom|The Phantom]], and saves Diana and the valuable cargo of ambergris that she has brought with her.
We also learn that [[Achmed Singh]] of [[the Singh Brotherhood]] is behind the attempts to steal the ambergris. Achmed attempts twice to kidnap Diana, who is the only one who knows the exact location of the graveyard of the whales where enormous amounts of ambergris exist. The Phantom, however, foils both attempts.
Subsequently Diana learns some very intriguing things about the Phantom when an old family friend Dr. James Dodd tells her that he saw the Phantom when he was a young boy seventy years ago. Diana decides to go back to get some more ambergris and is supported by the Phantom when he learns that she needs the money for a child hospital.

Diana is, however, kidnapped again by the Singh Brotherhood and taken to their leader [[Kabai Singh]] at their base at the bottom of the sea. The Phantom manages to rescue Diana and escape but he has to swim to the surface with only a diving helmet on his head and becomes severely injured by this. He disappears shortly before Diana is picked up by a British naval ship that destroys the base.

The Phantom is found by the [[Bandar]]s, the tribe that he lives with, and their medicine man [[Guran]] tries to drive off the demons that he believes possess the injured Phantom. The Phantom persuades them to bring the British military doctor [[Melville Horton]]. Horton heals The Phantom's injuries and is rewarded with a ruby necklace for his beloved. Horton gives the necklace to Diana, even though she doesn't want to marry him. The Phantom shows up at the wrong moment and believes that Diana and Horton are a couple.

Horton is then sent on a suicide mission with too few men against savage natives who slay every one of them except Horton, whom they decide to burn alive. The Phantom saves him and sends him back to Diana with some treasures that would help finance an expedition to retrieve the rest of the ambergris. Horton realises that the Phantom thinks that he and Diana are a couple and tries explain that Diana loves the Phantom, but the Phantom has already gone. The Phantom then guards the expedition from afar and manages to stop an attempt to steal the ambergris by the Singh Brotherhood. He then reveals himself to Diana and tells her the story of how the Phantom originated.

Kabai Singh's protegé, [[Sala]], falls in love with the Phantom and offers to help him if he returns her love, but he refuses as he cannot lie to her. The Phantom is sentenced to be boiled but is rescued by Sala who cannot see him die, even though he doesn't return her love. At that moment, the Royal Air Force attacks with bombs falling everywhere. Kabai tries to kill the Phantom once and for all, but is instead stabbed by Sala. Sala then gets injured by shrapnel and, thinking that she is dying, reveals that she never was a real member of the Singh Brotherhood, but a spy for an organisation called "[[The Sky Band]]". The Phantom takes her information seriously, but the British officials are skeptical. The Phantom, however, decides to investigate.
