== Biography ==

Gohs was born in Estonia and grew up in Poland during World War II. Eventually, Gohs and his family came to Sweden when he was 13 years old. In Sweden, he discovered comics and soon decided to become a comics artist. At the age of 16 he got a job as studio artist for the Swedish publisher Centerförlaget.

His chance to become a comics artist came when the Italian comic strip "Amok" (known as "Kilroy" in Sweden, a blatant Phantom-ripoff) was cancelled in Italy. The strip had become a huge success in Sweden and the Swedish publishers decided to produce new episodes, and Rolf Gohs was selected as the artist. This also led to opportunities to create a few comics of his own.

In 1957, Gohs began his career as cover artist for ''[[Fantomen]]''. He has continued this career until present day and has produced over 900 covers for ''Fantomen'' and other publications. His covers have been reprinted all over the world, making him one of the most published Phantom artists.

In the 1960's, Gohs drew two Phantom stories, one of which he wrote the script for aswell. He also made some additional art for Italian [[Fratelli Spada stories]] that were published in ''Fantomen'' at the time. But besides those few exceptions he has produced no comic stories featuring the Phantom.

In 1969, Gohs co-founded the publishing house Inter Art, to publish his own comic strip "Mystiska 2:an". Inter Art soon went bankrupt, but "Mystiska 2:an" was picked up by other publishers and Gohs has produced new stories sporadically until 1985. Several episodes were published as back-up stories in ''Fantomen''.

Inspired by the legends of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Children%27s_Crusade the Children's Crusade] of the 13th Century, Gohs created the comic "Dom Oskyldiga" ("The Innocent"), which was published as a back-up comic in [[Fantomen 21/2002|''Fantomen'' 21]]-[[Fantomen 23/2002|23/2002]].

Besides Phantom covers, Gohs has created covers for dozens of comic books in Sweden, thereby creating art featuring several of the world's most popular comic characters.

However, according to our support it seems that this problem may be a little more complicated and they don't know for sure that an upgrade will solve it. ===Project Groups ===
An idea that i have thought about recently was an idea of project groups (borrowed from another wiki) were three or four people work together as a team to create articles for example creating articles on all Frew Issues or Team Fantomen Stories allowing large sections of the wiki to be created rather than a little bit here and there if anyone is interested i would provide more information on how this can work.

But basically you have a user subpage for your project page, list your objectives as to what you want to accomplish a list of members the pages the project would cover as well as dividing the tasks up between the group based on there knowledge and the time their willing to spend on it. The talk page is then used for member to talk to one another about articles, ideas and anything else related to the project

::Currently, there are about four users that do the main part of the work; [[User:Member 7|Member 7]], [[User:Member 37|Member 37]], Dark Lord Xander, and I, Karl MAN. [[User:Member 18|Member 18]] have began to contribute quite recently and will perhaps be as active in the future. This is about the size of a project group according to Dark Lord Xander. I personally feel a little bit skeptic about the idea since I do not want to committ myself to do anything but rather do something when I feel to do so. I have made articles for nearly all issues of ''[[Fantomen Krönika]]'' (some were made by [[User:ERIK S|ERIK S]]) and for several issues of ''[[Fantomen]]'' (Currently, I think for ''all'' issues between [[Fantomen 11/2002]] and [[Fantomen 13/2006]], 107 issues, plus a couple of others). I have also made articles for other stuff and went through the articles of the issues of ''The Phantom'' from FREW to add creators of the stories that are listed. I think this has worked rather well, Dark Lord Xander has uploaded covers for ''Fantomen Krönika'' and ''Fantomen'' issues and I have added the creators for the stories in the issues whose articles he has created, Member 7 and Member 37 has then made corrections and other things to refine some articles. I think that this way of working certainly works, I like the team working. Concerning making articles for issues, I would feel a little bit disturbed if I know that I had to put up articles for issues before a certain date and I would also feel uncomfortable if I know that someone else was supposed to do it, when I could do it. I would then hesitate to do it.

::To summarize, currently the number of users who add articles are about the size of a big project group. I have other things to do and cannot guarrantee anything but like to add articles of [[:Category:Fantomen issues|Fantomen issues]] and would like to continue with that without having any pressure to finish something to a certain date and still not feeling as if I were doing someone else's job. Currently, I am happy with how we work and I am worried that project groups might change that in a negative way to me, though I might be mistaken. Generally, I agree with Karl MAN. Although some sort of work schedule (with no time restriction, of course) might come in handy. Then again - as long as we are only a handful of contributors, I suspect we all have a pretty good idea of what's going on, who is doing what, etc. At the moment, the Wiki is pretty much a project group as such. :)

Then again - if Dark Lord Xander, or anyone else, wants to create a "to-do-list"/"action plan" etc. I'm sure it will come in handy.

With that said, I think that a bigger Community Portal would serve much of the purpose Xander is getting at. Most important to be included is a comprehensive list of useful links and other sources, as requested above.

Other things that I think will be helpful (that also pretty much was Xander's idea) in this respect are [[:Category:Maintenance templates]] and [[:Category:Articles in need]], which helps us to get a good picture of individual articles that need a look or two. We are starting to get quite a big library of indexed issues. (Great work everyone!) There are some crucial info missed in just about every one of these articles: links to the publication (for issues of serialized titles), the country and the cover. We ought to decide how to include this as soon as possible. I also agree with you that before getting there, there is quite a lot more to be made. ===Protected pages etc===
I've just full protected several pages (see [[Special:Protectedpages]] for the complete list). I just wanna make clear that the reason for this isn't that I think that these pages will be damaged if not protected, but rather as a step on the way to make the structure of the PhWikimore clearer. When the login-problems are solved, we can get around using the different levels of protection, as well as open up for more people to be promoted administrators etc.

Anyhow - I hope the discussions regarding the protected pages keep on going. Protection does ''not'' mean that the articles are perfect.

I also wanna ask about the [[Template:Suggestion|suggestion template]] I created some time ago. My thought was to have this template included in every new PhantomWiki guidance page etc. during the first couple or weeks or so, in order for everyone to comment on it, edit it and improve it. When a couple of weeks have gone, the discussion hopefully has settled, the suggestion template is to be removed, the page becomes officially accepted as PhWiki guidance and the page is to be locked for anyone but Admins.

==Creator names==
Note that several creators have used more than one name as a Phantom creator:
*John Bull was Norman Worker's pen-name during his first years as a Phantom writer.
*Felmang (a pseudonym for Romano Felice Mangariano) was called Roy Mann, or Roymann, 2001-2003.
*Th. Pelerin and Ed Redno are both pen-names of Terje Nordberg.
*The writing team consisting of Ken Ikonen, Jens Hansegård and Kim McLaughlin adopted the collective name of Terrence Longstreet, starting in 1999.
*Claes Reimerthi and Michael Tierres are the same writer - Tierres was Reimerthi's pen-name until 1993.
*Johan L. Borgnes is Terje Emberland's pseudonym when he's working with [[Henning Laugerud]].

Additionally Dai Darell's civil name was Diane Alfredhsson and Idi Kharelli is a pen-name of Eirik Ildahl; Piero's full name is Pierfrancesco Prosperi, Boro's is Boroslav Pavlovic, Rancho's is Ilario Ranucci, and Usam's is Umberto Sammarini. None of them ever signed their stories with their proper names, though.

==Additional works==
In addition to the stories listed above, Team Fantomen has also produced some odd stories which for different reasons isn't included in the main list. None of these stories have been translated into English.
*Most notable is the more than 350 pages long story "[[The Heart of Darkness]]" by Claes Reimerthi and Joan Boix, published under the header [[Phantom Legends]] and spanning over 49 episodes, from 1994 to 1996.
*The majority of [[Fratelli Spada stories]] published in Sweden from 1968 to 1970, were edited and had new panels added, with art by Özcan Eralp, Bertil Wilhelmsson, Rolf Gohs and [[Anders Thorell]]. This was done partly to extend of the stories, and partly to improve them.
*When "[[The Super Jet Pirates]]" by Lee Falk and [[Sy Barry]] was published in Sweden in 1969, a prologue of seven pages, based upon "[[The 'Copter Pirates]]" by Falk and [[Wilson McCoy]] was added. Anders Thorell provided the art.
*In 1984 ''[[Fantomen]]'' published "[[A Secret Life]]", written by Ulf Granberg (under the pen-name [[Sprucehill]]), Idi Kharelli and Th. Pelerin, and with art by Kari Leppänen. This was a parody of the Phantom, lasting five pages.
*In 1986 a story of one page, "[[Revealing Visit]]", by Ulf Granberg and Hans Lindahl was published. This was another parody, meant to serve as an introduction to a competition.
*In 1987 Knut Westad wrote and produced the art for a series called "[[The Phantom Legends]]", including four stories of one page each, retelling parts of the Phantom myth: "[[The Phantom Legend: Magicians|Magicians]]", retelling the story of the drummer of [[Timpenni]]; "[[The Phantom Legend: The Story of Devil|The Story of Devil]]", about the Phantom's wolf [[Devil]]; "[[The Phantom Legend: The Phantom Trail|The Phantom Trail]]", about the jungle trail [[The Phantom Trail|with the same name]]; and "[[The Phantom Legend: T|T]]", about [[T|the terror organization]] from two of Lee Falk mid 1970's stories.
*[[Ian Colbell]] has created two Phantom parodies for ''Fantomen'': "[[A Day with the Phantom]]" in 1987 and "[[Supernerd]]" in 1990.
*The first ten issues of ''[[Fantomen Krönika]]'' (published 1993-1995) included a short prologue of one to two pages, written by Ulf Granberg and with art by Hans Lindahl. These stories include: "[[The Arrival]]", "[[The Contact]]", "[[The Attack]]", "[[The Explanation]]", "[[The Short Circuit]]", "[[The Reconnection]]", "[[Disconnected]]", "[[The Outbreak]]", "[[The Finish]]" and "[[The Restart]]".

== Fictional Character Biography ==
Guran is [[the 21st Phantom|the Phantom's]] best friend since childhood. According to [[Lee Falk]]'s novel ''[[The Story of the Phantom: The Ghost Who Walks]]'', he is ten years older than Kit Walker, aka the Phantom. The two grew up together in [[the Deep Woods]] of [[Bangalla]], where Guran taught the Phantom the ways of the [[Bandar tribe]]. Guran was the Phantom's best man when he married his girlfriend since boyhood, [[Diana Palmer]].

Guran followed Kit to Clarksville, USA, where Kit studied while living with his aunt and uncle, Bessie and Sid, leaving him to become the first of the shy, isolated Bandar pigmies to learn how to read and write.

He also brought Kit the message about Kit's dying father, [[the 20th Phantom]], causing the 20 year old college student to leave America to return to the [[Skull Cave]], Bangalla, where he took up the mantle of the Phantom.

Guran is known for his characteristic clothing. He is usually seen wearing a special hat made of either blades of grass or wood.

He is also the medicine man of the Bandar, and has saved the Phantom's life on a few occasions due to his knowledge of ancient Bangallan medicine as well as modern western medicine.

Guran is the son of the former chief of the Bandar tribe, leaving him to take over the title from his father (it is not known whether his father died or retired from the position).

Guran has a son from a former relationship, [[Timo]], who is the black sheep of the family. Timo was once was a part of a team that tried to steal the Phantom's treasure from the [[Skull Cave]].

A character called Guran had cameo appearances in some episodes of "[[Defenders of the Earth]]", which featured Flash Gordon, [[The Phantom 27th Phantom|The Phantom]], and [[Mandrake the Magician]]. However, as the series took place in the future, it is presumed to be one of Guran's descendants.

In [[The Phantom (1996 film)|the 1996 Phantom film]], Guran makes a brief appearance played by Radmar Agana Jao. In this version he is much younger than the Phantom, and is portrayed as an Asian, rather than African as he is in the comics. He also wears a turban and a more traditional set of clothing, rather than his strange hat and unique dress sense in the comic.

According to [[Lee Falk]]'s novel ''[[The Story of the Phantom: The Ghost Who Walks]]'', he is ten years older than Kit Walker, aka the Phantom. The two grew up together in [[the Deep Woods]] of [[Bangalla]], where Guran taught the Phantom the ways of the [[Bandar tribe]]. Guran was the Phantom's best man when he married his girlfriend since boyhood, [[Diana Palmer]].

Guran followed Kit to Clarksville, USA, where Kit studied while living with his aunt and uncle, Bessie and Sid, leaving him to become the first of the shy, isolated Bandar pigmies to learn how to read and write.

He also brought Kit the message about Kit's dying father, [[the 20th Phantom]], causing the 20 year old college student to leave America to return to the [[Skull Cave]], Bangalla, where he took up the mantle of the Phantom.

Guran is known for his characteristic clothing. He is usually seen wearing a special hat made of either blades of grass or wood.

He is also the medicine man of the Bandar, and has saved the Phantom's life on a few occasions due to his knowledge of ancient Bangallan medicine as well as modern western medicine.

Guran is the son of the former chief of the Bandar tribe, leaving him to take over the title from his father (it is not known whether his father died or retired from the position).

Guran has a son from a former relationship, [[Timo]], who is the black sheep of the family. Timo was once was a part of a team that tried to steal the Phantom's treasure from the [[Skull Cave]].

In [[The Phantom (1996 film)|the 1996 Phantom film]], Guran makes a brief appearance played by Radmar Agana Jao. In this version he is much younger than the Phantom, and is portrayed as an Asian, rather than African as he is in the comics. He also wears a turban and a more traditional set of clothing, rather than his strange hat and unique dress sense in the comic.

In [[The Phantom (1943 movie serial)|the 1943 Phantom movie serial]], a character named Moko is clearly inspired by Guran, and serves as the Phantom's assistant and helper throughout the film.

== Plot Summary ==
After meeting the [[The 21st Phantom|the Phantom]] and [[Diana]], [[General Tara]] is still humiliated and plans his revenge; to kidnap Diana. After several unsuccessful attempts, the general's henchmen finally succeed in abducting her. Diana is then smuggled into [[Tarakimo]] drugged and dressed as an old woman.

Meanwhile, the Phantom finds that Diana's abduction points to Tarakimo, and confronts [[Dr. Henry]] about taking official action. Henry reluctantly agrees to investigate the matter, but is nervous about the ramifications of accusing a head of state of such a crime. The Phantom takes matters into his own hands and departs for Tarakimo.

In the general's palace, Diana has been bathed by harem girls and [[Major Isamu]] provides her with a skimpy harem outfit. Diana is however defiant towards the general, who believes he is in complete control of her now. He is however no match for Diana's quick [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judo Judo] moves, and genral Tara is soon flying across his throne room, into a large wall.

General Tara and Major Isamu learn that the Phantom is Diana's husband, and plan a trap as they realise he will surely appear to rescue her. The place Diana in a steel cage hanging high above the ground.

When the Phantom arrives, he executes a daring rescue, silently slicing a square opening in the glass dome above Diana's cage, and then breaking the padlock on her prison cell. After releasing her, he breaks into the general's bedroom and, places the sleeping general in one of his own cages, outside the palace walls.

The general awakes, and realises his situation when the public scream and throw garbage at him. General Tara is hauled off in chains, as a new dictator, Colonel, now Field Marshall, Dito ascends Tarakimo's throne under the auspices of democracy.

I've added the 1980's stories, and the question arise what stories to include in the list. I've included every Phantom comic made by the TF creators (including "Deadly Cargo" by Emberland & Westad, which never has been published in Swedish, and only in a appendix to the Norweigan "Fantomet" magazine.), with the exception of shorter stories (parodies etc.), which I feel are better to keep in a sparate list at the bottom of the article. I've completed the list (as of Fantomen 4/2008), as well as added "odd" stuff in their own paragraph. I'm aware that there are some different oppinions in what stories are to be included (e.g. see above), but at least now we have a complete list of everything produced by Team Fantomen (with the exception of individual illustrations, covers, and re-drawings of and additions to several stories from [[Fratelli Spada]]. Any checking of the list is welcome, but I am pretty sure it is complete.

The English title of #311 is given as "The Slave's Railway", however, the Swedish title is "Slavarnas järnväg" and it refers to that a railway was built with the use of slaves in the 1960s in the Bengali colony of England where slavery was forbidden. The English title given, however, seems a bit odd to me since it could be called "The Railway of the Slave", i.e. "slave" is in singular, not plural. Now I am asking if this really is the English title that has been used in English. A better translation should be "The Slaves' Railway"; it is a very slight change but somewhat significant.
