Albums

Please note that in the list of serialized titles I just add this morning, I have deliberately ignored various albums which were only made of regular and previously published issues. For example, in 1943-1944, the editor “Hispano Americana” released albums composed with previous issues of its first series. Same thing for the editor “Dolar”: issues of the first and second series have known a “second life” in several volumes called “Albums de Lujo” (“Luxury Albums”) which collected five regular issues. Dolar released even bigger albums called “Libro de oro” (“Golden Book”) which grouped themselves, with a better hard cover, the contents of six “Albums de Lujo”, and so - in fact – the material of thirty regular issues (6 Albums de Lujo of 5 issues each = 30). The editor “Buru Lan”also released volumes of previously published material. I don’t personally consider such albums publications as being really similar as serialized titles, but I also see that in the article "The Phantom publications in France" they are indicate amongst ordinary serialized titles (it is the case for the Remparts albums). What is the best way to list that specific categories ? Alain 171.18.2.109 11:45, 17 December 2008 (CET)

I think like this: If a collector (like myself) find a copy of an issue, I look at the title on the cover. If the title says Le Fantôme Spécial Album, this is what I am looking for here on PhantomWiki. I may not be aware that these albums are only old issues of Le Fantôme Spécial glued together, so that's why I think that these "Albums" etc. should have a separate position in the list (like they have in the France page right now). But when I click that link, I think it is OK if it leads to the same page as the "main" series, where it is explained that these Albums are only collections and not a separate series. Ok, it sounds logical since the links lead to more detailed information. Your comments also apply exactly to the Dólar albums as regular issues were put together inside without their original covers. At first sight, one could believe those albums are separate series, although it is not the case… Alain. 171.18.2.101 11:48, 18 December 2008 (CET)

Publication titles

I have revised the links and titles of the publications. See it as a suggestion of how they should be named, I'm no expert on Spanish Phantom comics and do not know how some of these are known among Spanish readers. But I think like this:

Main title: Subtitle (publisher) - for example: Héroes Modernos, Serie A: El Hombre Enmascarado and El Hombre Enmascarado (Vértice).

The parenthesis ( ) is only needed if there are several publications who share the same title, for example El Hombre Enmascarado. Comment here on the names of the publications - my suggestions will mean that several existing articles will have to be renamed. Andreas 16:34, 17 December 2008 (CET)
