Eduardo Barreto (born in 1954 in Montevideo, died December 15, 2011) was an Uruguayan comic book artist, mainly known for his works on the DC Comics series The New Teen Titans.

Barreto was artist of the newspaper strip "Judge Parker" for King Features Syndicate from 2006 to 2010. During this time he suffered a severe car accident and meningitis. Fill-in artists were required to meet deadlines, and due to the meningitis he had to resign from the strip completely.

In 2011, Barreto returned to drawing comics regularly. On July 31, he became the new artist of the Sunday strip of "The Phantom" in continuing the course of the story "The Nomad" previously begun by Paul Ryan.

Barreto passed away suddenly in December, 2011. Even though he only worked on the Sunday pages for a brief period of six months, he created his own distinct and original style for the Phantom. He sometimes used new layouts that were unlike layouts used by previous artist for the Phantom Sunday pages.

Eduardo Barreto has two children, Diego who is also an artist, and Andrea, who is a colorist and colored the Phantom pages drawn by her father.
