Ed Rhoades is an American Phantom fan and collector.


Ed Rhoades was a longtime Phantom fan, artist, musician, and friend of Lee Falk.

Rhoades was editor and publisher of the newsletter for the Phantom fan club Friends of the Phantom. The group also held holiday dinners at Sardi's Restaurant in New York for many years, with several Phantom fans as well as Lee Falk and artists such as Sy Barry often in attendance. He has also contributed Phantom-related articles and interviews for several other publications. In addition, Rhoades was integral to the making of the A&E "The Phantom: Comic Book Crusader" special, created for the A&E Biography series in 2000.

As of 2006, Rhoades is a consultant for Moonstone Books and contributes articles under the title "Behind the Mask". Rhoades also co-wrote a story with Mike Bullock for the prose anthology The Phantom Chronicles.

On July 30, 2012, according to news reports, "Ed Rhoades of Catawissa, PA was riding his bicycle when he lost control and slammed into a pickup truck on Old Reading Road in Catawissa. He was taken to a hospital where he died. Rhoades, 65, retired in 2011 after years of teaching art in the Southern Columbia Area School District."
