Manuel Ortega is a former kick boxing champion who blames the Phantom for the death of his fiancé, Maria.

Fictional Character Biography

During a battle between the Phantom and terrorists in the Bangalla streets, Manuel and Maria were caught in the middle. When a suicide bomber detonated his explosives, Maria was struck down by the explosion which killed her instantly. Manuel, believing the Phantom to be a pawn of the Bangallan government he sees as corrupt, swore to avenge Maria's death. Tiger's Blood Pt 2

Five years later, Manuel formulated a plan to lure the Phantom to him. Creating a new type of drug called Cupid from killed tigers, Manuel knew that the Phantom would investigate.
