The newspaper was published in Croatian language.
The newspaper was published in Croatian language. Daily strips sometimes have been edited and reduced to three panels unlike four in original version, and then in some period strips published in ''Hrvatski dnevnik'' were combined from panels of two original strips. It means that many strips were published over two days. For example, on April 24, 1939 the last panel of the last strip from the story "[[The Shark's Nest]]" was published and the first two panels of the first original strip from the next story "[[Fishers of Pearls]]". It's interesting that translator was famous Yugoslavian / Croatian poet [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Goran_Kovačić Ivan Goran Kovačić].
 
The last issue was published on April 14, 1941, but didn't contain any Phantom strip. Newspaper was banned by government of Independent State of Croatia.

For political reasons, without any connection with published comic strips, some issues were censored and banned. Those issues from the following dates were saved in National and University Library in Zagreb: November 27 and 28, 1936, and December 7-9, 14-21, and 28, 1936.

Hrvatski dnevnik was a Yugoslavian newspaper that published "The Phantom" daily and Sunday strip from 1936 to 1941 seven days a week, and then reprinted first four daily stories in comic book series "Fantom" in 1937 and 1938. It was the first Phantom publication ever in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.

The newspaper was published in Croatian language. Daily strips sometimes have been edited and reduced to three panels unlike four in original version, and then in some period strips published in Hrvatski dnevnik were combined from panels of two original strips. It means that many strips were published over two days. For example, on April 24, 1939 the last panel of the last strip from the story "The Shark's Nest" was published and the first two panels of the first original strip from the next story "Fishers of Pearls".
