Plot summary

Lately two American warships have disappeared in the Sargasso Sea in the Atlantic. Combining the cargo on the two ships, nuclear missiles can be assembled. The US airforce has searched the area for survivors, wreckage or oil spills without any luck.

Diana Palmer-Walker has volunteered to oversea the transportaton of medical supplies on a ship. The Phantom comes along as her assistant, using this opportunity as a short vacation. The Singh Brotherhood use two dirigibles to hijack the ship. Part of the cargo is the medicine Synodrax that can be used as a sedative, particularly if the drug is mixed in the water supply of a city. Diana Palmer is taken hostage and taken to the Singh underwater base. The Phantom is left on the ship but comes after to rescue Diana.

In the end the underwater base is destroyed, the participating Singh pirates drowned or killed. The Singh leader Dogai who has overseen the operation remotely, promises to get his revenge one day.
