Donne Avenell (1925–1996) was a British comics creator.
Biography
Avenell was born in Croydon, Surrey. He began his writing career working for Amalgamated Press, which later became IPC. During his days with IPC he met Norman Worker, who got him in touch with Semic Press. Like Worker, he began to write scripts for "The Saint" and "Buffalo Bill" that Semic produced.
In the late 1970s, Avenell also began to write scripts for "The Phantom" and became a fan favourite.
Avenell also wrote "Axa" (drawn by "Modesty Blaise" artist Romero), "Tumac", "Django & Angel" and many Disney comics.
