Behind the scenes
The story has never been reprinted in English. "Minute of the Pale Death" is a literal translation of the Swedish title, "Bleka dödens minut", which in turn is taken from a poem by the Swedish writer Birger Sjöberg. "Bleka dödens minut" was also used in 1987 as the Swedish title of the film "The Princess Bride" which also could be a reason why the title was chosen for a Phantom story two years later.
